Hillcrest is located about 10 minutes north of downtown San Diego near both Balboa Park and the San Diego Zoo. For people familiar with Hillcrest, the Bamboo Lounge is two blocks south of the DMV, across the street from the 7-11, and near the boundary with North Park. The nearest highways are Hwy 163 and I-8. From the North - Hwy 163

1) get on the Hwy 163 south and go past I-8

2) take the University Ave. exit

3) take a left onto University Ave.

4) go down about eight blocks, you will pass a McDonald's on the left-hand side, and take the immediate left onto Normal St. to find parking. The Bamboo Lounge (619.291.8221) is across from 7-11.

From the South - Hwy 163

1) get on the Hwy 163 north

2) take the Robinson Ave. exit.

3) take a left on Vermont St.

4) take a right on University Ave

5) go down about eight blocks, you will pass a McDonald's on the left-hand side, and take the immediate left onto Normal St. to find parking. The Bamboo Lounge (619.291.8221) is across from 7-11.

From the North - I-15

1) take the I-15 south

2) catch I-8 heading west (towards the ocean)

3) get on Hwy 163 heading south

4) take the University Ave exit

3) take a left onto University Ave.

4) go down about eight blocks, you will pass a McDonald's on the left-hand side, and take the immediate left onto Normal St. to find parking. The Bamboo Lounge (619.291.8221) is across from 7-11.

From the East - I-8:

1) take the 8 West until you reach the Hwy 163, and head south on the Hwy 163

2) take the University Ave. exit

3) take a left onto University Ave.

From the North - I-5

1) take the I-5 south and catch the I-8 East

2) take Hwy 163 south 

3) take the University Ave. exit

4) take a left onto University Ave.
